Lockdown Maths: Combining like terms flipped lesson

Hey everyone, it's me Finau and welcome back to my blog! This is my maths task. We had to choose one maths task/topic and I chose "Combining like terms". It looked very hard at first but then it got easier as it went. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. Bye!

  1. Kia ora Finau,

Algebra is great fun! I thought I might be able to help you out on the problems you weren't sure about:

    Slide 3:

    26. A tip is to reorganise the problem so you group the common parts together. So it would read: y-5y-8z+15z
Now you should be able to work it out... y-5y = -4y ..... -8z+15z = +7z ..... so the answer should be 7z-4y Feel free to tell me if I have worked this out wrong though :)

    15. I can see your confusion with this one. I would say this one is already at it's simplest form :)

See if you can work out the other ones you weren't sure about using the suggestions I have given above.
