Tech @ Tamaki Hard Materials - Tool Safety

1. Consider the hand tools that you may use in the woodwork shop.

*Bench hook,saw,chisel,

2. Consider how they are used accurately and safely.

*You can use a saw to cut something in half with your hands/grip. You can also use a chisel to level something and make it the right length. You have to hit it on the wood.

3. How should they be stored to be sure that they are in good condition?

*Put them in a draw or tray so they don’t get wrecked or anything like that.

4. Think about the way we should behave in a busy workshop to keep safe.

*You should walk slowly (if you are walking), do not disturb anyone if they are using a tool in case they get hurt, don’t be silly with the tools and play around with them.

5. Can you imagine a situation that could result in an accident?

*Probably playing/running with a tool, accidentally cutting your hand with a saw (or any tool).

6. Produce a short list of “Safety Rules” that we could display in the workshop to remind us of safe working habits.

*Walk slowly

*Don’t run with tools

*Don’t disturb anyone well they are working or using a tool

*Listen to instructions

*Put the tools back in a safe place

7. Design a “Safety Poster” that could be displayed in the workshop.

Hi everyone, it's me Finau and welcome back to my blog! Today I went to my hard materials meet. It was fun because we started with a few jokes. We then moved onto our work and filled in a doc about safety in the work shop. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. Bye!
