Fabulous Fractions

What is Science?
Task 1 (facts)


Fact 1: The Human body is mostly made up of liquid.

Fact 2: It takes the Earth 365 days to orbit the sun. It takes 88 days for Mercury to orbit the sun because it is closer to the sun.

Fact 3: A producer starts the food chain. It could be a plant, grass or seaweed.

Fact 4: There are 4 spheres that make up the Earth, Hydrosphere, Atmosphere, Geosphere and Biosphere.

Fact 5. Some of the causes of water pollution are oil spills, animal waste, sewage, rubbish getting dumped into the ocean and floods and storms.

Hello everyone, it's me Finau. Today we went to tech at Tamaki. We switch rotations so that means I'm in Stem now. I used to be in cooking. Cooking was a blast and I enjoyed every lesson. Matheson Bay Reflection

 

Hey everyone, it's me Finau. I will be sharing with you my highlights from our trip to Matheson Bay. My first highlight was the bus because everyone was moving around and playing games and talked. Some people also slept on the bus. My second highlight was trying on our wet suits. It was kind of hard but it was fun. We kind of entertained the volunteers by falling down. My third highlight was going on a walk with Sophie and learning about Kauri Trees and the bugs in the stream. I also loved looking at the water fall. My final highlight of the trip was snorkelling!  I saw a lot of small fish, starfish and sea urchins. It was so cool and I was glad I did. It. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Final Process for Streets for Everyone Project/Testing out our Play Trail Activities

Hi everyone, it's me Finau. The year 7&8 Extension group went down Anderson Ave (and some other roads) to test our or play trail activities. This term and last term we had been working with Toby and Bhav for the streets for everyone project. All the activities were so fun to play with. They were all success and I was glad to see our activity. We saw all the different types of foods from our activities like donuts, fish and chips, Lu Sipi (Tongan Dish), Kimchi (Korean Dish) and much more. One of my favourite activity was the Retro Racing. The Baby-Sitters Club Kristy's Big Day - Home Learning #3

Hi everyone, it's me Finau and this is my homework. We had to choose a book and read a chapter from it and summarise it. We then had to predict what happens in the next chapter. Here is a link to my 1st and 2nd one.

Kristy is so upset and walks to her bestie Mary Anne's house for a baby sitters meeting. Soon everyone starts talking about any calls (calls for anyone who needs baby sitting) or anything they need. They do get some calls and some of them are free to baby sit and others are not. Mary Anne then realises how upset Kristy is. She asks why and tells her the bad news and good news. Everyone was shocked but they wanted to know more about how she is a bridesmaid (which was the good news) and a little worried about the bad news. They ask what is she wearing and what colour is the dress. After that they ask each who are they going with at Final Fling (which is a dance or prom at their school). Mary Anne doesn't want to go but Kristy is excited about the Final Fling than the wedding. 

I predict in the next chapter that Kristy and her friends with go to the Final Fling and maybe Kristy is still kind of worried about the wedding and the other things.

Raft Building

Hi everyone, it'a me Finau. Toady we had to make a boat or raft with straws and tape. We had to put a small plastic animal in the boat to see if it would float. My group Madi, Nina and Aye made a boat. We put a lot of decoration on a boat and put more on our rhino. We really enjoyed. Our boat was a success and it floated. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Cultural Barrier

 

Hi everyone, it's me Finau and today at extension we did a literacy activity. I really enjoyed it and found it interesting. We had to read a poem called "Barriers". We answered some questions about the poem with our partners. Some of these questions were really fun to answer and we thought a lot about it. We also learnt what barriers are and what a cultural barrier is (it is like blocking you to say a word in a different language or culture).I hope you have enjoyed this post. Mathletics

 

Hello everyone, it's me Finau and this is my maths task for today. Today we did mathletics and it was very fun. I worked in a group with Bradley, Jane and Lee. We had to compete in a maths competition and answer these maths questions. I did enjoy it but we came pass some very hard questions for example the one in the photo and the hockey sticks and using letters as numbers. I felt very desperate for help and learnt some new things about maths and new thing about my group. We had around 200 points or more. I hope you have enjoyed this. The Baby-Sitters Club Kristy's Big Day - Home Learning #2

Hey everyone, it's me Finau and this is my homework. We had to choose a book and read a chapter from it and summarise it. We then had to predict what happens in the next chapter. I finally found a book that I enjoy reading which are comic books (and much more). Here is a link to my 1st one. 

As usual Kristy went to school but you know when bad things happen? Sometimes good luck is followed after that and that is what happen with the wedding. Kristy came home to see her Mum panicking and in stress. She asked what happened. The house Kristy and her family was living in at the moment was going to be sold soon but Mum told Kristy that the house was going to be sold very, VERY soon (like next month?) and Mum had to go on a 2 week business trip in Europe on the wedding day. NO! Kristy is upset because then they would have to move very soon and she wants to stay with her friends but that means that Mum has to plan a weeding in 2 weeks and clean the house before the new owners come. Mum starts packing and throwing pans and dishes. Her younger brothers comes and gets kind of worried. Kristy get mad because of all of this chaos and runs to bedroom. She talks with her best friend Mary Anne about everything. After that Kristy goes to Mum and tells her she will help her plan. It took a lot of work and time but there is more to do. 

I predict in the next chapter shes carries on helping Mum to school. I think she might still be very upset and tells the Baby-Sitters Club.
