Tech @ Tamaki Stem/Science

Task 1: Osmosis

Photosynthesis is a process in which plants make their own food.

Parts of a Plant:
Flower
Stem
Leaf
Roots

Plants produce food like sugar and oxygen but they only give us oxygen not sugar.

Leaf is where the photosynthesis takes place.

Stomata of tiny pores on the back of leaves and takes on carbon dioxide.

Xylem helps the water move up the plant and Phloem helps food move in different parts of the plant.

Transpiration

Evaporation of water in plants.

Task2: Experiment: Celery and Food Coloring Experiment

Ingredients:
Celery
Water
Food colouring
Beaker
Scissors

Purpose: To see water move from roots to the leaves through Xylem.

Method (steps/instructions):
Fill up the beaker with water and add food coloring.
Get celery and cut the roots.
Put the celery in the water and stir it around.
Get a plastic bag and a twist tie and tie the twist tie around the celery but only at the top where the leaves are.
Once you have done it do not spin it too much or else you will not see the water movement. This will take some time.

Xylem:

Hello everyone, it's me Finau and welcome back to my blog. Today we had science. We were learning about how water moves in a plant from the roots to the leaves. It was so fun because we did a experiment about it. I did this with Milz. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. Bye!

    1. Hi Mrs Sharma!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Yeah, I really wanted to record to show everyone what I did at science class and how we did it. Thanks again Mrs Sharma.

      From Finau:)
