Summer Learning Journey/Week 6 :Whānau Tent Time

Hi everyone, its' me Finau and today I will be doing another activity for the SLJ. This activity is about spending time with our families in our tents. It's also called Whānau Tent Time. I was very glad that there was an activity about this because we had our own tents outside our backyard. I did a post about this a couple of days ago. Here is it, 1 and 2. SLJ Seesaw Seesaw (By Catherine)

Summer Learning Journey/Week 6 :That Was Summer

 

Hey everyone, it's me Finau and today I will be doing an activity for the SLJ. For this activity we had to make a poem and it was called or about "That was Summer".  I didn't really understand it but I followed the instructions and finally understood it. Summer Learning Journey/Week 6 :Pixels

Kia ora everyone, it's me Finau and today I will be doing another activity for the SLJ. We had to learn about pixels and make art out of them. I made my Christmas Tree from home out of pixels. This was really fun to do but hard at the same time because I'm not really good at using this and I haven't used it in a long time. I know it doesn't look good but at least I gave it a go.

I also learnt things about pixels from watching a video and searching. Pixels are made out of small different coloured squares and you can make a digital image out of them.

I think that artwork was called Composition. I made my own and I'm actually proud with the overall look. It was a bit hard because I was trying to make it look like the artwork composition. Summer Learning Journey/Week 5 :Do Something New, New Zealand!

Hello everyone, it's me Finau and today I will be doing an activity for the SLJ. This one is about and called "Do Something New, New Zealand!". I was really happy about this activity because I saw this commercial on TV. I always sing it, haha! (Map Description, L&P) This activity was for the SLJ. We had to use maps to look for things that kiwis (the people) in NZ do. I chose the Giant L&P bottle. This seems like an amazing landmark in New Zealand that I hope to visit one day. I think it looks really cool because of how massive and big it is! I also chose it because L&P is a nice soda drink that everyone loves.

Camping Out our Backyard (Part 2)

                   

Hey guys, I'm just doing another post about camping out our backyard part 2! The tents were small and my brother sleeping in the navy blue tent took almost all the space. Camping Out our Backyard!

 

Hi everyone, it's me Finau and today I will be doing a post about camping out my backyard! My siblings and I were really excited about this and we were really being impatient but we just waited. Hehe! :3 Soon we started setting up the tents. We enjoyed it and had fun. Were still outside and just relaxing. My brother is sleeping in the navy blue tent. Summer Learning Journey/Week 5 :Camping Hacks and Checklist

Camping Hacks and Checklist!

Camping Gear. Of course you need to bring camping gear, you’re going to need and you’re on a camping trip! Bring a tent, torch, tables, chairs and much more. Just bring whatever you want that makes you happy and comfortable well at camp.

Toiletry. Everyone knows that you need toiletry. Toiletry requires toilet paper, soap for your hair, body and hands. Also bring some plastic bags to carry your dirty clothes or your toiletry.

Sleeping Gear! When you camp you need to sleep (well for most of you if you want to). Bring things that would keep you warm at night (and during the day). Pillows, blankets but not big ones and sleeping bags. You can ring something to sleep on top of like a mattress but maybe a one that is not so big.

Water Gear. It’s hot when you go camping so you just want to have a swim but who knows how rocky and how sharp the rocks are. Well just for safety, bring water shoes. They help protect your feet from those rocks that give your feet scars. I have experienced something like that so trust me. Also bring togs and or water clothes:)

First Aid Kit. I should've said this earlier on but you need a first aid kit. You might get hurt or get a scratch or even a scar so bring a first aid kit. That’s probably something some people already know what to do and what to bring.

Kitchen stuff. If I’m wrong but I’m probably not, you should bring kitchen stuff and food. You are gonna be really hungry. Bring like a BBQ so you can cook some stuff and some healthy snacks or fruits. Water is something you really, really need to keep you going throughout the day and to keep you hydrated.

Clothes. Oh clothes, that’s what you need. If you want to change out of something dirty then you can because you brought some clothes. You also need to bring shoes for walking and hiking or slippers in case it’s hot. It’s important to bring clothes and shoes.


Actually it’s important to bring whatever is on this list. Bring anything that makes you comfortable and happy during your camping trip (said that in one of the things you need).

Hey everyone, it's me Finau and today I just want to wish you all a Happy New Year! Last year, 2020 has been insane. Stuff like Covid 19 and lockdown and all the crazy stuff. It was just super duper crazy. Now everyone is happy that we are starting a new year, 2021! I'm looking forward to it and I hope that this year turns out better than last year. Thank you to everyone who helped last year, doctors, police, parents, family, teachers/staff/principles and much more. Also the Prime Minister and the people who work with her. Thank you!
