SLJ/WK 2 - Poetry Slam (rua) - Kennings

Hey everyone! My name is Finau and welcome/welcome back to my blog. This is the poetry slam activity (rua). This activity was about Kenning. We had to find kenning about summer/animals that remind you of summer. This activity was very interesting to do because I've seen kenning before but I didn't know they were called that.  I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

  1. Hi Finau,
I love how you made your slides nice and bright! It is nice to see someone taking inspiration from myself (Thank-you for asking). I love all the different animals you used, and that you labelled each one clearly. Great job! Can't wait to see what you do next.

    1. Hello Quein!

Thank you for your comment. I don't know if this comment was for Kiarah (peskiarahs.blogspot.com) or you spelt her name instead of mine. Thanks anyways:)

I'm very glad you enjoyed the slides and thought that it was very thoughtful and positive. I'm also glad you liked the other things like the colours and how I labelled the animals. Oh, thank you!

Thank you! This also makes me think of summer as well (especially the animals).

You could search for some Kenning Summer examples and then think of animals that remind you of summer. Think of what that animal's appearance or thing it could do, make a kenning out of it.

      Thanks again,
      Finau

  3. Kia ora Finau!

It is Charlotte here from the SLJ commenting team!

Wow what an awesome kennings poem! I love the format you have used to present your poem! I like the fact you wrote it about a variety of animals!

Thank you also for including the topic/purpose into your slides!

I suggest next time you make the writing bigger/in bold so that it is easier to read! I zoomed in which made it less blurry, but with those colours it does trick your eyes a bit!

Awesome mahi, Finau! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your posts!

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Charlotte :)
