My trip to the Museum

Yesterday and today was our year 5 & 6 extension trip to the Auckland Museum. It was amazing and cool. There was art galleries and old ancient things from back in the day. There was lots of places like the dinosaurs, Volcano's, places were the bugs were and much more. Before we did anything we ate. They provide us some food and we brought our own food. When it was lunch time they got some food from the stores at the Museum and we got sandwich's that had carrots, cheese and even tuna. I would give that a 2/10. We went into this room were where all these little furniture's and big bean bags. There also was this man called Gabriel and a lady called Wendy. They showed us around the Museum. We also got to do VR World with Wendy and we did coding robots with Gabriel. The VR World was cool because you would have to make up your own world and we got to code a robot which was great. There were also two laddies that knew lots about the sea and we even got to touch some of the things the got from the sea. Like Starfish, Kina, Crabs and some rocks. Then we explored the galleries and it was fun. The part i didn't like was the part where there was bug and weird creatures. I have learnt so much at the Museum, the coding and the VR world helped me learn more. I really want to go back check it out again. Thank you to all the people working at the Museum and to all the helpers. I really enjoyed it and it was a blast.

Tummyache

This was my task for this week. Tummyache. It was all about these four kids trying to share all the lollies evenly. The task name is tummyache like I said before and I think at the end when they ate all the lollies they got a tummyache. I loved this task and next time I should ask for some help for what it really means.

Dimic blog post 2

Today me and my group did another problem about the same thing from last time but it was centimetres meters and there was 25 strands of spaghetti and each spaghetti was 9cm. It was really cool doing it because it was trickier because it was in centimetres metres. Next time I want to share all the ideas I know and not to be shy.

Spaghetti and Marsh-mellow Towel

Today me and my classmates made a marsh-mellow spaghetti towel. We were given 20 strips of spaghetti and 10 marsh-mellow to build a towel. Our beautiful teacher Miss West came to help us with our towel, she gave us some great ideas to help build the towel. But the only thing we made was this, but we did have lots of fun making it.

Dimic blog post problem 1 week 6 term 1

This is my maths task for this week again. We were given piece of string  and were given some fractions if you want to see what fractions look up on the text above this writing. our task was to use the fractions and we had to figure out where the fraction is on that piece of string using a vivid to mark the spot. there were many methods like using rulers or folding the string some people even decided to draw a diagram rather than get string. Next time I want to get better at doing more of the work and sharing all the work I did with my group in front of everyone.

Dicmic blog post problem 2 week 6 term 1

This was my maths task for this week. We were given a piece of paper and use fraction from the problem and sort out were they belong. So at the end we could who went the furthest before stopping at the pole to take a rest.  Next time I want to get better at listening to my group.
