Drone flying race

Some of us was really excited because we got to go out with Mr Moran  on a hot sunny day flying the drone. Mr Moran came outside on the field and  explained what we were going to do. The reason why we did this is so we can learn how to fly a drone and so we can have fun. Mr Moran came outside on the field with his drone and phone and he showed us how to fly it and how to control the GPS. Mr Moran taught us that GPS stands for global positioning system. Not all of us got to have a turn flying the drone but i got to fly the drone.

I flyed the drone like superman and it was super duper fun. Everyone was sprinting down the field chasing the drone but it was to fast. Flying the drone was a blast.

 Hi My name is Jayla  and my name is Finau and we are from Pt England school. To day we are going to review the pen made me write. Do you love action, romance and comedy ? well this movie is for you. This movie is by room 18 at Pt England school and was made in 2012 Manaiakalani  film festival. The main part of this movie is that they stay on task with there work the pen made me write. The most enjoyed movie was about when the boy rang the girl. That was my best part. I am rating 5 stars.

Cross country

As soon as everyone knew it was cross country they were so excited and delighted. After morning tea every one got changed in their house colours. When the bell rang every one ran to the netball court and we were sitting in our year lines, everyone was so nervous. And it was our turn the year four girls. I was super duper nervous. when Mr Burt slapped the clapper every single girl sprinted across the field, past the rugby post, down the soccer post and back were we started. I was so exhausted and I was gasping for air. Then Mr Moran shouted " year 3 and 4 follow me". And we were sitting next to the bike shed cheering people. It was super fun. After the race we had a relaxing time watching a funny movie. The race was a blast.

thank you so much for teaching us that water is very important to us and our planet for the past 5 weeks. I have learned all about the water cycle and that if we look after the environment the environment will look after us. It has been awesome having you guys with us. I hope that you guys visit again soon. I enjoyed learning with you guys. And thank you for the Roots t-shirt and Mauri stone you gave us.

Elimination tag

With excitement our whole class went outside and got ready to play Elimination tag. We wanted to know why Mr Moran was holding dodge balls. But the twist was that there had to be three thrower and they have to throw the balls at you. And if you got tagged by the two taggers or get tagged by a ball then you're out. So I sprinted across the park and climbed up the monkey bars but I got tagged. "2 minutes left" Mr Moran shouted everyone was on the grass except for Marius he was so excited that he was going to win. So he dashed across the playground. But Marius ha such a bad landing and he landed on his chest. The game was so fun and everyone including me enjoyed it.

Duffy books

This is my Duffy book. It is called Ella Diaries by Meredith Costain and Danielle M'Donald. I choose this book because it has lots of amazing and exciting thing happening in it. I am thankful for this book you gave me. Thank you Dominion construction for donating books to our school.

The weight lifter

While I was competing in the Olympics, I was struggling to hold the massive weight in my hands. As I crumbed  to the ground, I was screaming with agony. It was very painful.

Food Pyramid

Me and my friends made a food pyramid and it tells you which food is healthy and which food is not healthy. The top part means that you can eat a little bit because it has to much sugar in it. The middle part means you can only eat sometimes. And the bottom means you have to eat it everyday.

Chicken noddle soup.

Today we got to move our body again. On a cold rainy day we needed Chicken noddle soup to warm up. I made up this dance with my friends.

A Healthy lifestyle for kids

Healthy kids lifestyle. For kids like us it is very important that we always have a good night sleep so we can wake up early and get ready for school. In the mornings we have to eat a healthy breakfast like cereal, orange and banana and the most very important part is to always brush and clean our teeth twice a day. For lunch we are supposed to have a apple,orange,banana and carrot and a water bottle. Moving our body is very important so we should play with our friends outside to get some energy.

My Mihi Paragraph

Sitting on the mat I lift my hand up, hoping that Miss Scanlan will chose me to share my Mihi in front of my class. Excitedly I stood ready to share my Mihi. I whispered to myself ‘’ I can do it.’’ I felt happy and proud of myself.

The story Matariki

In a beautiful valley where trees grew tall there lived the seven sisters who made wonderful kites for harvest. The first sister made a native green kite out of harakeke bush. The second sister made a wonderful orange kite out of raupo bush. The third sister made a pretty ping kite out of manuka bush. The fourth sister made a lovely red kite out of puriri tree. The fifth sister made a sparkling blue kite the colour of the river. The sixth sister made a plane white kite out of toetoe bush. The seventh sister, most smartest sister made a rainbow kite it was fantastic and her name was Matariki. After all their hard work making their amazing kites they took their kites up to the hill to fly them, but sadly there was no wind so the tied their kites to the puriri tree and took a nap. During that night the wind blew all the kites right off the tree. Later that night Matariki woke up and found out that all of the kites are gone then she started crying, all that crying made her other sisters wake up and they also found out that all the kites were gone. So all the sisters started looking for their kites but Matariki looked up in the night sky and saw all their kites it was like their were dancing in the sky. So each morning Matariki rose in the morning sky, signalling the start of new year the end.

My Zoo trip

As i walked around the zoo it was freezing cold under my rainy jacket. It was so cold i had to share jackets with my friend Madison. I was trying to look for a patch of sunshine to warm me up, but I was at the zoo ready for a great day with my class.

My favourite animal was the Cheetah. He had lots of black spots around his yellow fur. I was scared that i almost fell down because he came right up to me and he scratched the glass with his sharp claws.

My other favourite animal was the Elephant. He had a long grey trunk and he had long big floppy ears.

My most favourite part about the Elephant was how he had big white tusk wow Elephants are cool.


After looking at all my favourite animals we went to the NZ Native bush and birds. We were all learning about kiwis things like how big is a kiwi egg and a baby kiwi has to learn to survive on its own.

Then we went to the night forest to see real kiwi. We all walk around looking at the amazing

Kiwi and when we look up and we saw glowing stars. I had lots of fun there.

At the end of my Zoo trip i had a lot of fun but mostly tired and i learn that a Cheetah can see a whole

Recycling

Pt England school is learning how to recycle by using three rubbish bins. The red bin is for food that can not be recycle like apples, bananas and pears. The yellow bin is for hard plastic like plastic forks and spoons and yoghurt containers. The black bin is for soft plastic like chip packets and muesli bar wraps. 

We started using those three rubbish bins so we could save our animals, people and our world because once we are all adults there will be plastic rubbish in the sea. So it is important that you put your rubbish in the right bin to make our world a much better place to live in.

Rube Goldberg Machine

My Rube Goldberg machine uses 5 simple machines. First a ball (wheel )rolls down a ramp and hits the dominoes (lever). The last domino (lever)hits a hammer (wedge)and the hammer (wedge)hits the ball (wheel) and it goes down another ramp. The ball (wheel) goes up the sesaw (lever)and rolls down another ramp and falls into a pully and removes the car (wheel) and it rolls down a ramp and falls into a cup.
