Parts of a flower (what I know): Pedals, Stem, Leaves, Pollen.
Parts of a flower diagram:


Be able to dissect a flower, arrange its parts and collate on an information sheet.

The first thing I think about when I see a flower is how pretty it looks and how it smells.

Equipment: Flower, Cutting Board. Knife.
Method:
Remove one pedal and the sepal so you can have a clean cut.
Hold the bottom of the flower by pinching it gently. Cut it down the centre.
Remove the long origin. Face the knife front ways and cut it gently.
The pollen tube will be shown and cut out.

Why Does Matter Matter?

Answers:

Solid, Volume, Container, Matter, Ice, Juice, Gases, Mass, Atmos, Chair, Oxygen, Melting, Liquids, Shape, Space, Milk, Helium.

The three basic properties of matter are volume, mass and shape.

All matter is made up of tiny particles called atoms.

Volume is the amount of matter space that takes up.

Mass is the amount of matter an object has. 

Liquids take the shape of their containers.

Gases do not have a definite shape or volume.

Liquids do not have a definite shape, but they do have a definite volume.

Solid has a definite shape and volume.

An Ice and a Chair are examples of a solid.

Juice and Milk are examples of liquid.

Oxygen and Helium are examples of gases.

Solid ice is melting when it is changing into a liquid.

Can you explain floating and sinking?

Why does something float? Floating is when something is very light floats.

Why does something sink? Sinking is when something heavy goes down the water.

Why does something semi-floats? Semi-float is when you can see the object at the bottom and the top.

Notes/Ideas: Things float because they have air in it or they are light. Things that sink are because they are heavy and have no air in them. Example, when people die in water they float because their blood is gone. Cruise ships float because of the air and the shape of it. A bowling ball will sink because of its mass and the basketball will float because it has air in it. If you take a bath and sit in the bathtub, the water will rise because of your mass and how much space you take up. Submarines can sink and float because when they have air or water they float but when they have no air or water, they will sink!

Method: We measured the balls with the string and ruler. We then weighed them and found out what they are made out of and predicted if it was gonna float or sink or semi-float. We did the same thing with the wooden blocks.

Literature Essay - 4 Spheres

What are the four spheres?

Introduction - what are the 4 spheres? What’s this report about?
There are four spheres that make up the earth. It is the Geosphere, Biosphere, Hydrosphere, Atmosphere. All these spheres contain something important that makes the earth what it is.

The Geosphere
The Geosphere describes the land and rocks on the planet. From the tiny grains of sand to the big borders all live in the Geosphere. Geo comes from the greek word ground. Everything that lives in the Geosphere is not living, like they are all dead and not alive but some all the living things live in the next sphere that we are going to talk about.

The Biosphere
The Biosphere has all the living things in it. All the animals, trees, grass, etc. Bio comes from the greek word Life. All types of animals, plants, humans even are from the Biosphere. Some of the animals live in the next sphere.

The Hydrosphere
The Hydrosphere contains all the water on earth. Rain drops, water, seawater and liquid come from the Hydrosphere. Hydro comes from the greek work for Water. The water cycle is also in and from the Hydrosphere. Ice is also a part of the Hydrosphere.

The Atmosphere
The Atmosphere in the final sphere I will be talking about. It contains all the air and gases. For example, the air in the atmosphere and all the layers, gases from our vehicles. Atmo comes from the greek word Air.

Conclusion - what was this about? This was all about the 4 spheres of the earth. Geosphere, Biosphere, Hydrosphere, Atmosphere. All these spheres help each other so that the earth can be what it is.

 Hello everyone, it's me Finau. On Saturday I went on a Mini Mission. Not one like when you go undercover or spies. I was on a mission to preach the gospel and my religion.

(My Highlights from the day/recount). We went to the Church/Stake Centre and we a lot of kids from different wards. My highlight from that part was meeting new kids, meeting my companion, seeing my friends and getting to know my group (my team was Team Mormon). I was also glad to get my badge. At first it was kind of awkward but they were very friendly. When we found our group and companions, we sat in the Chapel and waited for the announcement. All the girls stood up and said that theme for 2021 and the boys did as well. We were then went to our workshops and our workshop was about "The Book Of Mormon". My highlight from the workshop was playing musical chairs, ice breakers and learning about how the Book Of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. At the end they gave us gummies, (hehe, thank you). We moved onto our second workshop was which was about trying to bring other unto Christ. My highlight from that workshop was when we learnt about their missions and verses in the scriptures. We learnt a lot of new things about the church and missionary work.  Our last workshop was about missionary work. We had to learn part of a word/verse and teach others in our group what faith is. My highlight from that work shop was learning about faith and teaching other about it. We then moved onto eating food and then took a group photo with everyone. After that we said our testimonies. My highlight from that was me facing my fear and talking in front of everyone. I also gained a testimony of my own. Yay!

 Dear Support Staff,

We just want to say Thank you for being a great help to Pt England School. Thank you for sorting our our problems, play games with us, volunteer to coach sport teams and just being there for us. We are very thankful for you kindness and helpfulness. 

We are truly grateful to have parents, grandparents, family members and people who use to come this school for coming to Pt England and helping out. It must be really hard helping us and being patient and It is so thank you for being very patient with us. We are very sorry if we have made you mad or not listen to you.

Hot Water:

Method: Measured the cold water and timed the sugar being dissolved in the cold water. We then measured the hot water and timed the sugar being dissolved in the hot water. The temperature for the cold water was 23 and the time was 1.38 sec. The hot water temperature was 77 and time was 22.43.

Result:
Temp of cold water = 23
Temp of hot water = 77
Time taken by water to dissolve in cold water = 1.38
Time taken by water to dissolve in hot water = 22.43

Hello everyone, it's me Finau. Today we had our stem/science class. We were measuring and checking the temperature of hot and cold water.  We also dissolved the sugar in the cold and hot water. What was really interesting for me was how the sugar dissolved in less than 30 seconds in the hot water but it took kind of a long time when it was in the cold water.
