ANZAC day is a very important event that we celebrate here in New Zealand and in Australia. ANZAC stands for “Australia, New Zealand, Army, Corps”. In world war one Great Britain declared war on Germany. They wanted more land so New Zealand and Australia joined Great Britain because they were under Britain. The ANACs landed at Gallipoli but at the wrong place. The other Army was up on a hill and once the ANZACs hopped off the ship, people started dying. The army started shooting the ANZACs and some were trying to carry on while their friends died in front of them. Lots of people died that day, like a LOT. Only 70 survived. That was INCREDIBLE bravery. This is why we celebrate ANZAC day on April the 25th. We should all remember those you fought.
