Dimic Lesson

 

Hi everyone, it's me Finau and today I did a dimic lesson with my class, well with my group. We had to use 4 4's (yep 4 4's) and use a operation to make a number from 1 - 10. Reflection A Twisted Tale - Home Learning

 

Hey everyone, it's me Finau and today I will be doing a post for my home learning activities. We had to chose a book and read a chapter. Then we had to explain what happens in the chapter and write a prediction for the second chapter. 

So there was a battle with Mulan's army and the Huns's army. She took her dad's spot in the army so she was a girl pretending to be a boy. Mulan thought of a bizarre idea she has never done before. She knew it was bad idea but they had to try something or else they would die! I think it was the captain who chased after her and told her to stop but then he got hurt, like badly. Mulan didn't know what to do. I think in the next chapter, Mulan might think of something to stop the Huns and get her captain back on his feet. Her army probably or will claim victory.

Wind Energy (Extension Task)

 Hello everyone, it's me Finau and today I will be sharing a post about an activity I did at extension today. I'm in the Year 7 and 8 extension group. We had to find things and learn about Wind Energy. We had to be put in groups of 3 and I was with Aye and Atawhai. We didn't know much about wind energy until Atawhai brought something up about Wind Turbines. That's when we all started thinking of things that use wind like a wind blower or a hair dryer or a plane After all the thinking and researching we presented it to our extension group well Aye did most of the talking so yeah. Sorry Aye! Everyone had a go at sharing their ideas. I really enjoyed this group because to know Atawhai better (because she's new to extension) and I got to learn about something I haven't really thought of I hope you have enjoyed this post. Blog Intro (about me)

Malo e lelei and greeting to all! My name is Finau. I am 11 turning 12. This year I’m in year 7 at Pt England School. So that means I’m senior and I’m in intermediate. I’m in room 4 with Mrs Stone.

I come from a family of 7, my parents, myself, my 2 younger brothers Vaha and Keni and my sister Catherine. And of course my cousin. Catherine and Vaha also attend Pt England and Keni is at Kindergarten and will soon be at Pt England with the rest of us. I love spending time with my family and doing activities with them. They mean a lot to me.

Some of my hobbies are playing netball, writing, shopping and learning about the world. I love eating at Carl’s Junior or at any place. I also really like eating fruits, pizza and ice cream. Yumm!

When I grow up I really want to be a pilot so I can take my family around the world or a netball player because I enjoy playing netball and it’s a sport I love to play.

I am Tongan and I was born in Hawaii and I am raised here in New Zealand.

Hula Hoop Game (fist day of school)

 

It was a sunny morning on Wednesday and my amazing teacher Mrs Stone kindly let us play games for most of the day. Yay! Thanks Mrs Stone.! One of our first activities was a interesting one. We had to hold hands and make a circle. One person put a hula hoop around them and tried to past it around the circle without letting go their hands. 

We started off with our team. We all held hand and put the hula hoop on one of us and started passing it around. It was funny and interesting to watch because I thought it was something hard and impossible to do but I saw other passing it down so I thought it wasn't hard. We went really fast well that what we thought from what we saw (from our group). We just kept on going because we were having heaps of fun. 

Something I thought was cool was that Raejae (a boy in our class) just fit his whole body through the hoop. Some other tried but I don't think it worked. After a bit Mrs Stone told all of us to go with one other group. I don't know it it was trickier with a bigger group but I thought they probably knew a strategy. The other group we worked with did something else but I think we still did great.

After that the whole class you worked together on doing the hula hoop game. It was super duper fun and I don't think it was tricky because everyone worked out how to do this. To do this game you have to listen to others, talk to them and think of a strategy.
