Summer Learning Journey/Week 6 :Pixels

Kia ora everyone, it's me Finau and today I will be doing another activity for the SLJ. We had to learn about pixels and make art out of them. I made my Christmas Tree from home out of pixels. This was really fun to do but hard at the same time because I'm not really good at using this and I haven't used it in a long time. I know it doesn't look good but at least I gave it a go.

I also learnt things about pixels from watching a video and searching. Pixels are made out of small different coloured squares and you can make a digital image out of them.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. Bye!

  1. Hello again Finau, this is Elle from the Summer Learning Journey.

Ka pai - what an incredible piece of Pixel Art! I think it’s so cool that you decided to do a Christmas Tree in the spirit of Summer! I really like the amount of careful detail you’ve put into all of the layers and colours. I especially like the little sparkles you’ve added to the Christmas ornaments - this was a nice touch!

How long did you keep your Christmas tree up for? We didn’t have our tree up this year, because we have lots of puppies who are very naughty and we were worried about them pulling it apart when we weren’t looking!

Because you have put so much effort and creativity into your pixel art, I am going to award you bonus points for this activity! Keep it up Finau, I am thoroughly impressed!

    1. Hi Elle!

Thanks you for leaving me a comment. I'm so glad that you like my Christmas Tree artwork. I'm also glad that you like the details I added to the tree.

Well we still have it up but we are probably gonna take it down soon because my brother kept on moving it and it fell but luckily I caught it. PHEW! Also sorry about your Christmas tree not being set up.

Oh, thank you for the extra points Elle! I'm just happy that lots of you are giving me this. :D

      Thanks again Elle,

      From Finau:)

    2. Kia ora Finau!

You are most welcome and it is always lovely to hear back from you.

That’s so cool to hear that you still have it up! Whether it’s Christmas or not, they add a great atmosphere, especially when they’re covered in colourful tinsel and ornaments. What is your favourite decoration on your Christmas tree?

Well done for catching the tree before it fell; you must have quick reflexes! That’s okay, I didn’t mind so much that we didn’t put it up this year, as we actually went away for Christmas! My cousins had a pretty cool Christmas tree, so that filled its place!

You are most welcome, you definitely deserve them! We really appreciate you putting so much care into the activities and watching you learn along the way, so your efforts have absolutely been recognised. Keep it up! :)

      Ngā mihi,
      Elle (SLJ)

    3. Hey Elle once again!

Thanks for replying back. Yeah I love seeing it up. My favourite Christmas decoration is the lights. They have different festive colours that are super bright.

Oh thanks, I was just watching him because I knew something was gonna happen. That's cool how you and your cousins went somewhere.
